Averra Developments Live Site Tour
Worlds First Monopour Heavy Duty Installation
Tuesday, January 14th: 10:00am - 1pm
You are invited to a live site tour of the world’s first Monopour Heavy Duty (MPHD) ICF Foundation. The home, designed by Robert Blaney Homes, is being built by Averra Developments, one of the premiere Net Zero Home Builders in Vancouver since 2007.
Architects, Engineers and Builders will find this foundation system to be the most efficient in today's market. MPHD enables the simultaneous pouring of footings and ICF walls, resulting in a stronger foundation without cold joints. This saves thousands in labour and concrete pumping costs while reducing the foundation's embodied energy.
The Fastfoot® footing system completely replaces traditional footing lumber with a cost-effective, capillary-breaking fabric: resulting in the driest basement possible. In just four days, Averra's three-man crew installed 200 feet of footing and the 9-foot high R-24 wall form.

Proper Excavation
Averra supplied a dead-level excavation with a 4" drainage layer. String lines were set up for accurate location of the ICF walls.
Spray Paint Layout
Averra team sprays the center of footing and outside of ICF on the drainage layer.
Fastfoot footing layout
Fastfoot® footing form is unrolled over the spray paint. Nudura ICFs are installed directly over the Fastfoot®.
Monopour HD Brackets
Once two courses of Nudura blocks are locked together, MPHD brackets are screwed in place 5' on center.
Drill adjust walls
Using a level and laser, the walls are lifted to accommodate the footing depth.
Bracing the walls
Once walls are 6' high, Zont bracing is installed and the ICF wall is staked in its exact position.
Work to be done
Next week Averra will install the final course of ICF, attach the Fastfoot® footing form to the ICF bottom edge, and install the insulated window bucks, ready for your site visit on January 14th.
